Product Description
Xanthan Gum XCD is a premium quality biopolymer powder designed to provide maximum solids suspension and hole cleaning in vertical and highly deviated wells as well as horizontal directional drilling applications. XCD is a distinctive product and able to produce a thixotropic shear thinning fluid. XCD also acts as a very effective mud filtrate viscosifier. XCD is a high quality product which meets the API 13A Specification 19 Section.
Application/Function
Viscosify fresh water and brine-based fluids used for drilling, milling, underreaming, and gravel packing operations.
Suspend bridging agents and weighting materials in fresh water and brine systems.

Recommended Treatment
Add XCD in concentration of 1.0 to 3.0 kg/m³ (0.4 to 1.1 lb/bbl) to drilling fluid. Mix slowly through a jet mixer or sift slowly into the vortex of a high-speed stirrer.

Safe Handling Recommendations
Utilize normal precautions for employee protection when handling chemical products. Use of standard PPE is recommended for employee comfort and safety. See Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) prior to use.
Package and Storage
25kg bags or according to customer’s requirement. Avoid high-intensity extreme pressure and prolonged exposure to strong sunlight. Keep container closed. Keep away from heat, sparks and flames.
